My trial balance will not balance. How do I find the error without starting again?
Straight line or reducing balance: how do I know which one, and where does a disposal go?
How do I lay out an income statement and a statement of financial position for the marks?
Partners' salaries, interest on capital, current accounts: where does each one go?
Paper 2 is two long questions in 75 minutes. How do I finish both?
Each part of the 4AC1 specification taught in Pearson's order, with every ledger, statement and account set out in the layout the papers expect.
A short check at the end of each section, so a gap in double entry shows up before the next section builds on it.

About
This is the Edexcel International GCSE Accounting course, written against specification 4AC1 for the 2027 and 2028 examinations.
It follows the specification in Pearson's order: the accounting environment, from types of business to accounting concepts and professional ethics; bookkeeping, from business documents and books of original entry to the ledgers, depreciation and irrecoverable debts; control processes, from the trial balance and control accounts to the correction of errors and bank reconciliation; the financial statements of sole traders, partnerships and manufacturers, with incomplete records and accounting ratios; and end of period adjustments. Each section is taught, then checked at its end before the next begins.
You sit two papers. Paper 1, Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounting, is 2 hours and 100 marks, with multiple-choice, short-answer and long-answer questions on Topics 1 to 3. Paper 2, Financial Statements, is 1 hour 15 minutes and 50 marks: two multi-part questions on preparing, analysing or evaluating financial statements, from Topics 4 and 5.
The course is recorded. It has no live classes and no messaging a teacher.
Access runs to the date printed against your sitting.
Outcomes
Record transactions in the books of original entry and the ledgers using double entry
Prepare a trial balance, control accounts and a bank reconciliation statement
Find and correct errors with journal entries and a suspense account
Calculate and record depreciation, disposals and irrecoverable debts
Prepare financial statements for a sole trader, a partnership and a manufacturer
Calculate and interpret profitability and liquidity ratios, including return on capital employed
No. Accounting is learned by doing: a ledger, a trial balance, a full set of accounts. Each section of the specification is taught with the layout written out, then checked at the end of the section before the next begins. Watching starts the work. The check is where you find out whether it stuck.
Sit with your child and open their account. It shows each section of the specification, how many of its lessons your child has finished, and what is still to do. Ask them to talk you through the check at the end of the last section they finished. If they cannot explain the layout, that section is the one to take to a teacher or tutor.
Keep the tutor. A tutor has a few hours a week. This is open at every other hour: the whole 4AC1 specification in order, so a missed class or a shaky topic can be gone over again, with a short check at the end of each section. The sections your child found hard in the checks are the thing to bring to the next session.
Not directly. The course is recorded. There are no live classes and no messaging a teacher. If your child needs someone to answer questions in person, keep the tutor for that.

Every accounting answer is structured to match mark-scheme requirements, with clear workings, correct formats and precise explanations, so students know exactly where each mark comes from.
Siam al Aqil has taught Accounting in Dhaka since 2015, specialising in Cambridge O Level Accounting (7707), Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Accounting (4AC1) and Edexcel International A Level Accounting. The teaching rests on one principle: Accounting should be understood, not memorised. Complex topics are broken into clear, logical steps, alongside exam technique, problem-solving and mark-scheme awareness, so students understand what each question requires and write answers that secure the available marks. Specialist areas: double-entry bookkeeping; financial statements and adjustments; accounting principles; ratios and financial analysis; costing and decision-making; past-paper practice and examination technique; mark-scheme-focused answer writing.

This is Edexcel International GCSE Accounting, specification 4AC1. Check the code on the statement of entry. In Bangladesh, Edexcel International GCSE is often called Edexcel O Level; it is the same qualification. Pearson's modular Accounting (4XAC1) and Cambridge O Level Accounting (7707) are different qualifications with different papers.
Paper 1, Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounting, covers Topics 1 to 3: the accounting environment, bookkeeping and control processes. Paper 2, Financial Statements, covers Topics 4 and 5: the financial statements themselves and end of period adjustments. Paper 1 carries two thirds of the qualification and Paper 2 one third. The details are under The papers you will sit.

No. The course is recorded, with no live classes and no messaging a teacher. The worked layouts and the checks show what to do and where your child is unsure; they do not answer questions. If your child needs that, keep a tutor for it.
